Following Arizona's loss to Duke in the championship game Monday night, 17 people were arrested for violent and destructive acts on North Fourth Avenue. The Wildcat asked students what they thought of the riots, and if they thought the UA's image was affected by them.

Kristine Newburger, business sophomore

"If this happens when they lose, what happens when they win? I stayed home because I saw what happened in '97."

Jennifer Newburger, physiological sciences freshman

"I think (the riots) reflect poorly on the students. It shows how out of hand we can get."

Clint Dorenkamp, management information systems senior

"I thought it was pretty sad and pathetic. I think it is sad because it gives Tucson a bad national image."

Keith Pawlak, music senior

"I would hope that it wouldn't (reflect on the UA). Something like that doesn't represent the student body at all. Hopefully, the perpetrators weren't students."

Brandy Smith, management information systems junior

"I am sure the community holds the students responsible, but I don't know if they were students."
