If standing in front of a classroom of students with a piece of chalk in your hand is your idea of a dream job, check out today's Teacher Fair from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Representatives from more than 100 school districts will be on hand in the Bear Down Gym to answer questions about the education field. The event is sponsored by UA Career Services and additional information can be found on their Web site, http://www.uacareerservices.arizona.edu/student/cd4teach.htm, or by calling 621-4224.

Puppetry takes on mature themes at tonight's UApresents debut performance of "The King Stag." A provocative angle on an ancient Asian fairy tale is illustrated through colorful costumes, movements and masks. The twisted form of Indonesian shadow puppetry will begin at 8 p.m. at Centennial Hall. Tickets for this event are $22 to $34 and can be purchased through the Centennial Hall box office at 621-3341.

Friday night is often inundated with soggy dinners and lame movies. For something a little out of the ordinary, check out tonight's Spring Fling events at the Rillito Downs on River Road. The fun begins at 4 p.m. with ska band Turban Jones and ends at 9 p.m. with swing band Hipster Daddy-O. If music isn't your thing, support the UA clubs and services instrumental in the fair by visiting the carnival rides or 15 games of chance on the midway anytime before midnight. For more information on ticket prices or detailed directions, call 621-5610.

Put on your favorite dancing shoes, tie a scarf around your neck and grab a seat at tonight's International Arts Society Film screening of "West Side Story." Beginning at 7:30 p.m. in the Modern Languages auditorium, the story of a feuding neighborhood will erupt in song before your eyes. For more information on this free showing, call Charles Scruggs at 621-3527.

If the return of cooler weather has you desiring something a little slower-paced, check out tomorrow night's UApresents Jazz Series featuring the Regina Carter Quintet. The Time magazine honored artist will pick up her violin at 8 p.m. for her Centennial Hall audience. Tickets are $16 to $28 and can be purchased through the Centennial Hall box office at 621-3341.

Forget the coffee and pick out a seat for tomorrow night's UA dance division performance, "Premium Blend." Award winning faculty members will take the stage at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m., showcasing a variety of intricate choreography and accompanying live and recorded music. Tickets for the Crowder Hall performance are $8 to $10 and available through the dance division at 621-4698.
