A student from Arizona State University was arrested Sunday afternoon at a university building on charges of possessing a fake ID, reports stated.

A University of Arizona student turned in the wallet containing the fake ID to UAPD headquarters, 1852 E. First St., on Sept. 10.

Officers searched the wallet in an attempt to identify the owner, Gregory Edling, 18, of the 600 block of East University Drive in Tempe. The officers found a fictitious ID card, reports stated.

Officers contacted Edling, telling him that an unknown person turned his lost wallet into police, and he could come and pick up the wallet at the UAPD headquarters. When Edling arrived at the station, he was arrested on charges of possessing a fictitious ID, reports stated.

Police retained the fictitious ID and placed it into an evidence folder at UAPD headquarters. Edling was given his wallet and its remaining contents, reports stated.


University officers arrested a Tucson man Sunday night at a convenience store parking lot on charges of drinking alcohol in public, reports stated.

Police saw three males sitting in the vacant Circle K parking lot located on East Sixth Street and North Cherry Avenue. They were drinking from Keystone Ice beer cans.

When officers approached they noticed that the three males had watery, blood-shot eyes, and a strong smell of alcohol coming from their breath.

The officers also had to continually remind the males not to drink in front of them. One of the males told police they were "celebrating the UA victory," reports stated

One of the subjects also told officers that they were not drinking in public because the lot they were drinking in was vacant.

One of the males, Consuelo Garcia, 44, of the 700 block of South Sixth Street, was arrested for drinking alcohol in public. All the males were questioned and released at the scene, reports stated.


University officers arrested an Avondale man early Sunday morning on a charge of minor in possession of alcohol at North Campbell Avenue and East First Street, reports stated.

Officers heard Thomas Mock, 18, of the 10,000 block of West Ashland Way in Avondale, yelling at them while they were driving east on North Campbell Avenue. Mock was crossing North Campbell Avenue near the crosswalk when he was heard yelling "woo-hoo" and "ya-hoo" at the officers, reports stated.

The yelling caused officers to swerve into the curb, reports stated.

Officers then exited the vehicle and approached Mock, who had a plastic red cup filled with beer in his right hand.

After being asked, Mock told the officers he was 18-years-old. He was cited for minor in possession of alcohol and was released at the scene.


University police arrested a UA student early Sunday morning at East Second Street and North Vine Avenue on charges of criminal littering, reports stated.

Officers were patrolling North Vine Avenue when they noticed Christopher Lotosky, 18, of the 1000 block of North Park Avenue, urinating on a bush.

Lotosky told officers that he was urinating outside because he did not know anyone who lived inside the house.

Lotosky was arrested on charges of criminal littering, and released at the scene, reports stated.


Officers were called to a campus building Sunday evening regarding a man with a weapon inside the building, reports stated.

Police spoke with a UA student who saw a suspicious looking man on a bicycle at the Maroney Theater, 1025 N. Olive Ave. The UA student told police that he recognized the male from a previous date when his bicycle was stolen form the Music building, 1017 N. Olive Ave.

The UA student also told police that when he asked to speak with the suspicious bicyclist, the man stopped his bike and became angry and argumentative. The subject pulled out a wooden stick and began to shake it at the UA student, reports stated.

The man then dropped the bike and ran into the Music building. That is when the UA student lost sight of the suspect, reports stated.

University police and campus security searched the area. Officers found a suspect who was later released when he did not meet the UA student's description.

Officers placed the Giant mountain bike into evidence and told the UA student to contact police if he saw the suspect in the vicinity again.
