It's also a band who will be playing a jazzy style of rock on the Mall today from noon till one as part of this week's Groovin' on the Grass concert series. We've all seen John Madden's and Richard Greatrex's take on "Shakespeare in Love," now find out about "Shakespeare on Love." English professor Peter Medine will discuss Shakespeare's works in relation to love during today's Humanities Series. The lecture starts at 8:30 this morning, so you might want to grab a cup of coffee on the way to the three-hour seminar. The discussion will be held in the Transitional Office Building at 1731 E. Second St. This workshop is part of an ongoing series that will run you $140. Call 626-7845 to save your seat.

We all know it's a different world, but just how different is it? Come find out when Amy Rule, an archivist for the Center for Creative Photography, discusses "A Different World From Any Previous: Louise Dahl-Wolfe's Travel Journal's." Rule will discuss Dahl-Wolfe's 1927 travels to Europe and Northern Africa with photographer Consuelo Kanaga. The gallery talk starts at 5:30 this evening. It may not be the Boston Pops, but the UA's Symphony Orchestra is still worth seeing. And you can do just that tonight when the musicians perform selections from William Walton. The concert will also showcase doctoral candidate Eric Stellrecht as a solo performer of "Piano Concerto in A minor, Op. 54," by Robert Schuman. The performance starts at 7:30 p.m. in Crowder Hall in the fine arts complex. Tickets, which range between $4 and $8, are available through the UA fine arts box office. Give them a call at 621-1162.

Just when you thought the whole Cold War thing was over, the German Information Center pulls one from the vaults. Or two in this case. The German Film Series Special will feature a documentary on "The Fall of the Berlin Wall" followed by "Schwarzfahrer," a film portraying the experiences of a black man in Berlin. The film's star Paul Outlaw will be on hand to introduce the film and lead a discussion afterwards. The program will be held in the Modern Languages Auditorium and starts at 7:30 p.m.
