KENNER, La. - A man walking home in this New Orleans suburb was doused with a flammable liquid and set on fire by someone in a passing car, police said yesterday.
The 20-year-old man suffered second-degree burns over 75 percent of his body Sunday night and was reported in serious condition.
Screaming in pain, the man ripped his clothes off as he ran to his apartment, where he soaked himself with water. His name was not released.
Police said they have not determined a motive but believe that the crime was not random and that the victim may have known his attacker. They said they have several suspects.
