A former Pi Kappa Alpha member told university police Thursday that more than $1,800 worth of personal property was stolen from his fraternity bedroom sometime during the summer, reports stated.
The man, who graduated in May, left his belongings in the house from June to August while he pursued job opportunities. When he returned last week to pick up his property - which included carpet, curtains and a trailer hitch - it was gone.
Fellow fraternity members, who according to reports were "evasive" and "uncooperative" in the situation, told the member that the house had been burglarized during the summer.
Police asked the man if fraternity members had filed a police report and he said they had not, reports stated.
Officers could take no further action in the matter.
University police deferred a UA student to the Dean of Students Office diversion program Wednesday night after officers found the underage man drinking on the front lawn of his fraternity house, reports stated.
Police on patrol in the area of Sigma Chi, 1616 E. First St., saw two males holding beer cans in their hands. When the men noticed the officers, they attempted to hide the alcohol with their hands, reports stated.
Police stopped to talk with the men and asked them for identification. One male presented his driver license which confirmed that he was 21-years-old, while Christopher Edwards, 19, said he did not have identification on him.
The other man said Edwards, of the 1100 block of East Eighth Street, was under 21 when officers questioned him, reports stated.
The UA student verbally identified himself and then showed an Arizona driver license and CatCard.
Officers deferred Edwards to the Dean of Student's Officer for minor in possession of alcohol.
Officers on patrol Thursday cited a student, who was carrying three driver licenses, after she parked her car in a bike lane outside a campus sorority, reports stated.
Police noticed a car parked with its hazard lights flashing by the Alpha Epsilon Phi sorority house, 1071 N. Mountain Ave., and tried to locate the owner.
Officers spoke with sorority members and a short time later, Denise Lepon, 20, ran out of the house to her car.
Lepon told officers that she "just ran in the house for a second."
Police asked Leopn, of the 100 block of South Player's Club Drive, for her license and registration. She opened her wallet and pulled out a Texas driver's license and identified herself.
As she pulled out the license, officers noticed another driver license underneath.
Lepon then removed that Pennsylvania driver license, which she claimed belonged to a friend in Pennsylvania.
As she pulled out the second driver license, officers noticed a third license.
Police examined the third license, an Arizona driver's license, and determined that it had probably been altered, reports stated.
Lepon told police that she went out with a friend last night and forgot to give the Arizona license back to her, reports stated. Lepon told officers that she did not know how to get in touch with the owner though, reports stated.
Finally, after being read her Miranda rights, the woman told police that she was given the Pennsylvania driver license to get into the bars, but did not change her story about the Arizona license, reports stated.
Officers attempted to locate the owner of the Arizona license without success.
Lepon was cited for parking in a bike lane and released.
Police patrolling the south side of campus Thursday morning noticed a woman laying on the ground surrounded by four people, reports stated.
Upon further investigation, officers determined that Lauren Cerato, 18, was unconscious and had shallow breathing.
Cerato's roommate told police that she had been drinking earlier in the evening at a party, reports stated.
Officers attempted to speak to Cerato, of the Graham-Greenlee Residence Hall, 610 N. Highland Ave., who drifted in and out of consciousness, and she told them that she had been drinking.
She vomited twice as police and paramedics spoke to her.
The student was transported to University Medical Center, 1501 N. Campbell Ave.
Officers did not cite the woman at the scene because of her varied unconscious states, but she will be cited at a later date for minor in possession of alcohol, reports stated.
