An employee of Parking and Transportation Services called police yesterday after noticing a UA parking meter had been smashed, reports stated.

The employee said the meter, which was located in a parking lot on 1201 E. Speedway Blvd., was pulled out of the ground and damaged by a rock until the timer was loosened, reports stated.

The timer, valued at an estimated $500, was stolen and the money was left behind, reports stated.

There are no witnesses or suspects at this time, reports stated.


Two UA students' lockers were broken into yesterday while they were working out at a campus gym, reports stated.

The students said that they locked up their possessions with combination style locks while they were working out in the Bear Down Gym, 1428 E. University Blvd., reports stated.

When they returned, they both found their locks and the belongings from their lockers missing.

The first student reported a Gucci watch valued at $1700, a sweatshirt valued at $50 and a key ring of unspecified value missing, reports stated.

The second student reported his wallet, valued at $40, and a money clip valued at $80 missing, reports stated.

Both students said they did not notice anybody suspicious in the locker room, and there are no witnesses or suspects at this time.


A purple and orange saw was stolen from the back of a truck near campus yesterday, reports stated.

An employee of B&B Masonry, 1010 N. Highland Ave., told police the Husqvarna-brand saw was stolen from a truck parked nearby.

The saw was valued at an estimated $1100 and is engraved with the lettering "T20," reports stated.

The employee said he did not notice anybody suspicious in the area, and there are no witnesses or suspects at this time.


A UA student reported his bicycle stolen for the second time yesterday, reports stated.

The student said he locked his bike, a Murray "Elevation," to the bicycle racks on the south side of the Apache-Santa Cruz Residence Hall, 1420 E. Fifth St., using a cable lock, reports stated.

When he returned to the rack yesterday, his bicycle and lock were both missing, reports stated.

The bicycle, valued at $50, was not registered with Parking and Transportation Services, reports stated.

The student said he did not see anything suspicious in the area, and there are no witnesses or suspects at this time.


A UA student reported her bicycle stolen from a campus building yesterday, reports stated.

The student told police she locked her bicycle, a Schwinn "Mirada," with a cable lock to a rack near the Economics Building, 1110 N. Campus Dr., while she went to class.

When she returned, she noticed that her bicycle and lock were missing, reports stated.

The student also reported that the bicycle had a black basket mounted on the handlebars, reports stated.

The student said she did not see anything suspicious in the area, and there are no witnesses or suspects at this time, reports stated.


A UA building was vandalized with black spray paint yesterday, reports stated.

Officers patrolling the area noticed the phrases "NTS-END," and "nuisance to society obl" spray painted on the north side of the Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering Building lab, 1025 N. Highland Ave., reports stated.

The word "end" was also spray painted on the south side of the building, report stated.

There are no witnesses or suspects at this time.


An employee at the KUAT annex reported a window on the building smashed yesterday, reports stated.

The employee of the annex, located at 1220 N. Highland, said that nothing appeared vandalized or stolen, reports stated.

The employee said that she would question other employees regarding the broken window, reports stated.

There are no witnesses or suspects at this time.


A UA student reported his bicycle stolen from a UA dorm yesterday, reports stated.

The student said he locked his bicycle to a rack on the south side of the La Paz Residence Hall, 602 N. Highland Ave., with a cable lock Sunday evening, reports stated.

When he returned to the rack yesterday, he noticed the bicycle and lock missing, reports stated.

The student said he did not see anything suspicious, and there are no witnesses or suspects at this time.
