The Arizona Gymnastics team picked a good time to gel.
UA snapped a three-meet losing streak Friday night at McKale Center, beating two ranked teams en route to their first Pacific 10 Conference victory.
In front of a crowd of 800 people, the team managed to come together, to the relief of UA head coach Bill Ryden.
The come-from-behind victory could prove to be a step in the right direction for the GymCats, who had struggled so far this season.
Individually for the Wildcats, junior All-American Randi Liljenquist took home her first all-around title of the year. She also proved superior on the floor, where she scored a season-best of 9.950.
As expected, senior Kara Fry also contributed greatly to the overall win. She scored a season-high 9.850 on the uneven bar, leading Arizona to the triangular-meet victory.
Ryden said seniors Mary Reiss and Heather Straccia helped contribute to these two much-needed wins.
"Tonight's meet was a really good team effort," he said. "All of the gymnasts really came through, and I am happy for them because they can see where all of their hard work is going."
Arizona hits the road next weekend for another multiple-team meet. The Cats will travel to Los Angeles, where they will meet UCLA, No. 12 Washington and Cal State Fullerton Sunday.
