Man charged in alcohol death turns himself in

By The Associated Press

BLOOMSBURG, Pa. - A man accused of giving an 18-year-old college student a second bottle of vodka after he had already downed one turned himself in to face a charge of manslaughter.

David Klimowicz, 21, a criminal justice major at Bucks County Community College, was charged last week in the death of Bloomsburg University student Jared Drosnock. He turned himself in Tuesday and was released on $25,000 bail.

District Attorney John McDanel said authorities had found film taken by Klimowicz showing Drosnock drinking during a Pi Kappa Phi fraternity party Jan. 27.

The following day, fraternity members found Drosnock's body. The coroner's office said he had a blood alcohol level of around 0.40 percent - about four times the state's legal limit for driving.

Klimowicz's lawyer said it was too early to comment on the charges.
