UA senior Brianna Glenn was named the Pacific 10 Conference track and field athlete of the week yesterday.
The All-American sprinter earned the honor after winning the long jump and placing second in the 100-meter dash at the Sun Angel Classic in Tempe last Saturday.
Her mark of 21-5 in the long jump was an automatic NCAA qualifying mark, one of 21 posted by Wildcat athletes at the meet.
The La Mirada, Calif., native has qualified for the NCAA Championships in the 100 and long jump, and has qualified for the Pac-10 Championships in both events as well as the 200-meter dash.
Glenn holds the Arizona record in both the 100 and long jump and ran the fastest time in school history in the 200, though it was wind-aided.
The defending NCAA outdoor 200 and long jump champion is currently ranked No. 1 in the nation in the 100 by USA Track & Field.
Glenn and the Wildcats are next in action this weekend at the Mt. SAC Relays in Walnut, Calif.
