People deal with some form of depression at some time in their lives. The Depression Treatment Research Project at UA wants to make a difference. It is seeking depressed volunteers not currently taking medication. Volunteers will receive free treatment in exchange for regularly completing assessment interviews and surveys. Call Susie at 626-5400 for more information or a free telephone screening. Susie can also be reached via e-mail at smrogers@u.arizona.edu.

Beginning today and running through Saturday, the UA library will sponsor an international conference on organizational change. The international library conference titled "Living the Future 4: Collaboratively Speaking" will focus on how libraries can become more user-focused and distribute information more efficiently. Registration costs $320, and institutional group and student rates are available. The conference will be held at the Sheraton Park Hotel, 5151 E. Grant Road. For more information and times, contact Barbara Allen at 621-2373, e-mail her at allenb@u.library.arizona.edu or visit the Web site at http://www.library.arizona.edu/conference.

Lectures aren't always boring, and some can address issues that hit close to home. The Africana Weekly Studies Lecture "Addressing Health Disparities: What Are We to Do?" takes a look at providing culturally competent health care for minorities in the United States. The lecture begins at noon and runs until 1:30 p.m. in the Psychology building, Room 306. For more information, contact the Africana studies program at 621-5665.

For an evening of art and entertainment, stop by the Modern Languages auditorium at 8 p.m. to check out the Visiting Poets and Writers Reading Series, "Graduate Student Reading." UA graduates Alison Hoffmann, Mark Horosky, Rachel Lehrman and Morgan Schuldt will present from their collections of works. An informal reception is set to follow. For more information, contact the Poetry Center at 626-3765, e-mail to poetry@u.arizona.edu or visit the Web site at http://www.coh.arizona.edu/poetry.

At 5 p.m., if you happen by the Modern Languages building, you will find two options for enlightenment in adjacent rooms. Room 410 features Dr. Kendra Gaines in another enriching session of the Individual Writing Assistance Workshops. She will answer questions and help out with any writing project. For more information, contact Donna Rabuck at 621-5849. In Room 411, you can expand your mind and horizons while watching "La Voce Della Luna," another installment of the French and Italian Film Series. For more information, contact Katy Ferreira at 621-7349, or e-mail her at katyf@u.arizona.edu.
