Come to the Modern Languages auditorium tonight at 8 to hear alumni from the UA's creative writing program read their work as part of the Poetry Centers' ongoing outreach and promotion programming. So she tagged along today, and now you have to dazzle her with how fascinating life as a working mom can be, so take her to the Arizona State Museum. Thursday, as part of the "Daughters on Campus Day" sponsored by the University of Arizona, the Arizona State Museum of Art will be featuring two exploratory sessions of museum careers. The sessions are 9 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. and 1:15 p.m. to 4 p.m.
The School of Theater Arts presents a one-act play festival Thursday, Friday and Saturday, featuring the works of Thornton Wilder, Anton Chekov and Tennessee Williams, among others. These short and to-the-point plays can be seen at the Laboratory Theater; call 621-1162 to get the schedule.
Beer! Fire! But not together, kids! At Nimbus Brewery, the pyrotechnic group Flam Chen will be spinning, eating, dancing and wearing flames while you have a locally brewed pint. The show lights up at 9 p.m. on Saturday at Nimbus brewery, 3850 E. 44th St. Bring your $7 for a ticket and your ID for a beer.
Soothe away a few of those pre-finals stresses with some of the best woodwind music the UA offers. Monday at 7 p.m., the Arizona Wind Quartet performs its annual spring concert, featuring the premiere of "Sextet for Winds and Piano," composed by Richard Faith. Soloist Rex Woods will be tickling the ivories as well. Call 621-2988 for information or 621-1162 for $4 tickets.
You can also laugh those pre-finals stresses away with · opera. The UA Opera Theater's "Opera Scenes" features a variety of comic scenes from the least expected genre. Monday, go to Crowder Hall for the free laughs at 7:30 p.m.
Monday and Tuesday at the Ina E. Gittings buildings, the UA Dance division presents its annual end-of-the-semester performance, "Last Chance to Dance."
