The Pima County Board of Supervisors passed an ordinance Tuesday that will prohibit smoking in all restaurants as well as bars that receive 50 percent or more of their revenue from food sales. Smoking will still be allowed in rooms that are separately ventilated or on patios that are more than 15 feet away from the nonsmoking sections or entrances. The Daily Wildcat asked students how they feel about the ban.
"If I go with other smokers, I'll choose to go to a regular bar. But if I'm with non-smokers, it won't make a difference."
Mikki Rakestraw
molecular and cellular biology and psychology junior
"The ban is fair. People that choose not to smoke shouldn't have to inhale second-hand smoke."
Adam Redmer
theatre graduate student
"I enjoy smoking. When I'm at a bar socializing, I shouldn't be restricted."
Michael Beer

"I don't think it's good. I like drinking and smoking at the same time."
Beth Kaplan
