TODAY
You spent night after night studying for the LSAT's, and now that you've taken the test it's time to figure out where those scores are going to get you. Representatives from law schools around the country have gathered today in Bear Down Gym for the annual UA Law Fair. Bring any questions and concerns you may have about attending law school to the fair between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. For a list of schools providing information for the fair, contact Verlaine Walker at 621-3336.
Hello? Anyone home? Don't spend this Friday night cooped up in your dark
apartment or dorm room. Get out and catch the International Arts Society Film Series presentation tonight at 7:30. Tonight's free screening of "Hi, Are You Alone?" is part road flick, part domestic Spanish drama. The film is open to all students and faculty and can be seen in the Modern Languages auditorium. For more information on future screenings, contact Charles Scruggs at 621-3527.
Not into catching a late-night flick or entertaining your buds at the local watering hole? How about an exciting night of basketball at Midnight Madness, UA style. Free activities include a slam-dunk contest, 3-point shootout, autograph session and free posters, contests, prizes and giveaways. Get a chance to meet the new UA men's and women's basketball lineup. The games begin at 10 p.m. in the McKale Memorial Center. For more information on this event, contact the McKale ticket office at 621-2287.
THIS WEEKEND
Get out and get active. With Tucson temperatures cooling to the mid-80's
it's time to get out and play some ball - volleyball, that is. If you want to play a game of outdoor volleyball but don't have a team, head on over to the Student Recreation Center tomorrow from noon to 2 p.m. Tomorrow's "Play Day" is designed to get you on an existing team or set you up with other single players. For more information on other intramural events, contact Monte' Reed at 621-8723.
Skip the movie-store rentals and pick up a ticket for Sunday's Laboratory Theatre preview of "Rain, Some Fish. No Elephants." This gripping drama delves into a world filled with racism, cynicism and a variety of other intimidating "isms." Watch as a genetically engineered population takes the stage at 1:30 p.m. to tell the tale of two daughters and their "female and male elders." Tickets, priced at $11, can be purchased through the Fine Arts box office at 621-1162.
