UA officials are in the process of trying to pull $13.8 million from university programs to give back to the state in order to accommodate a statewide deficit of more than $650 million. The Wildcat asked students, "If you were in charge of finding money to send back to the state, what would you cut?"
Shravan Thakkar
management information systems sophomore
"They should cut back on the number of students who are coming to the university. There are too many students in the dorms, and classes are overcrowded. They should try to scale back all over the university. They are now going to build more housing, but that is not the way to go."

Michelle Smock
undeclared sophomore
"I don't think there is anything you can just cut back. I think we need more money in programs because classes are overcrowded."

Jennifer Bazzell
dramatic theory senior
"They don't need to keep tearing up every part single part of campus. If they minimized some of the construction, that might help."

Ben Neill
political science junior
"I would cut the fireworks from the football games. I would cut a lot of the athletic stuff. I would actually increase the number of faculty and cut back on athletics."
