The word "transgender" refers to transsexuals, cross-dressers and other gender-variant people; according to TGNet Arizona, a transgender advocacy organization, at least one individual per month is murdered based on anti-transgender hatred. Tonight at 7:30, TGNet and other groups memorialize those victims with a "Day of Remembrance" candlelight vigil.
