A UA student was kicked in the face Nov. 18 while trying to overcome alcohol-related nausea, reports stated.
The student called police from his residence hall the next morning after he had a bad headache and realized that one of his eyes was bloodshot. He told officers that he was at a party at a friend's house near campus the night before. He had a few beers and sat down on the porch to overcome a bout of nausea.
While he was sitting outside, eight men with shaved heads approached him. One man said, "Hey what's your problem, you fucking pussy?" The student said "Fuck you" before the man stepped forward and kicked him on the left side of his face, reports stated.
He described the man to officers as 5 feet 2 inches, 115 pounds and wearing blue jeans and white sneakers, reports stated.
The student then got his friend and attempted to contact the group of men, but they had gone into a neighbor's house. The student got a ride home and immediately went to sleep.
The next day his face was swollen, but his sight was normal. He saw an emergency room doctor and told police he wanted to press charges. The doctor told the student that he was suffering from a hemorrhage but would be fine.
Officers photographed his injuries and the house where the incident occurred, reports stated.
The student was given victim's rights information and was told to have other partygoers to call police with information.
Two juveniles were arrested at UMC after they used traffic cones as bullhorns and threw them onto North Campbell Avenue, reports stated.
An employee at the University Medical Center, 1501 N. Campbell Ave., called police when he saw two males in the parking lot walking away with traffic cones.
He told police that the juveniles were using them as bullhorns and throwing them into the street. The employee also said that he wished to press charges against the two boys.
The boys admitted to taking the cones.
"It's not a big deal. We were just having fun," one said.
Officers searched one of the boys and found an opened pack of cigarettes in his pocket. When officers asked why he smoked, he said that his probation officer would get mad if he smoked anything else, reports stated.
The two males said they were bored and waiting for one of the boy's brothers to arrive. When the brother did arrive at the hospital, he identified himself to police but was unable to provide an identification card or a driver's license, even though he drove there.
Police were unable to contact the boys' parents but told the brother they were going to arrest the two and take them to Pima County Juvenile Correction Center.
Both boys were charged with suspicion of theft of an item less than $250. The male who possessed the cigarettes was also charged with suspicion of being a minor in possession of cigarettes. The brother told police that the two boys should know better.
PCJCC told police they would contact the two boys' probation officers.
A Tucson man was arrested Saturday night after he admitted to police that he stole five hot dogs from a local convenience store, reports stated.
Officers were called to Circle K, 1610 E. Sixth St., after a man was seen panhandling outside.
When officers approached Jim Sisson, 39, of the 100 block of East Council Street, they noticed he was eating a hot dog and drinking from an open can of malt liquor. Police asked him to put down the can before they spoke to him, reports stated.
An employee at the store told police that they wanted Sisson to leave, but didn't want to press charges. The employee also said that the man was asked to leave earlier in the night.
While speaking with Sisson, officers noticed he was hiding four hot dogs near the bench he was sitting on.
"I stole them from the store," Sisson said while pointing at the Circle K, reports stated.
Police and employees went inside and realized that five hot dogs were missing from the grill. Sisson was cited and released on suspicion of drinking alcohol in public and shoplifting, reports stated.
The hot dogs and liquor were thrown out.
