SALT LAKE CITY - Call it an ESPN Classic.
A missed shot by Gonzaga's Blake Stepp at the buzzer in double-overtime ended a scare for the Wildcats in 96-95 victory Saturday.
The win sets up a meeting with No. 5 seeded Notre Dame on Thursday in Anaheim, Calif.
The game was a back and forth battle for the right to move on in the NCAA Tournament in what seemed like a game that both teams couldn't find a way to seal it.

"One second your on top of the world the next second you feel like crap," said Arizona sophomore Salim Stoudamire about the flow of the game.
All five UA starters finished the game in double-figures led by 22 points apiece from Channing Frye and Jason Gardner. Both Frye and Rick Anderson had double-double and Luke Walton was one assist shy of one himself.
But the five-points from Stoudamire in the double-overtime proved to be the difference maker.
Stoudamire, who struggled from the field early in the game, made a running floater in the lane with just over two minutes remaining to take a 96-95 lead.

That would be the last hoop scored by either team.
The Zags with the Huntsman Center crowd behind them the whole game had a chance to win with 22 seconds left as it got the ball after a UA turnover.
The Bulldogs Tony Skinner, who scored a career-high 25 points, missed a 3-pointer long with four seconds left but Stepp picked up the loose ball, pumped faked but missed a 5-foot bank shot.
"I don't know how much time was left and just grabbed it, and when the horn went off my body just collapsed," said Walton, who grabbed Stepp's missed shot as the time expired.
The Wildcats celebrated momentarily after the shot missed but each UA player made sure to go up to Stepp to tell him he played a great game.
"Stepp is one of the best shooters in the country and he showed it tonight," Gardner said. "I think that was one of the best games of all time."
Stepp had 19 of his final 25 points after halftime.
A shot with four seconds left in the first overtime by Walton forced the second-overtime. Walton powered Cory Violette under the basket to tie the game at 89-89. A last second heave by Stepp fell short.
The game went into overtime after Skinner grabbed a rebound off a Stepp missed and banked in a shot at the buzzer. Gardner sank 3 of 4 free throws to get to that point.
There would be no Cinderella story this time for Gonzaga, a mid-major team that has made the Sweet 16 three out of the last four years.
"That was as good as a team as I've played in my five years here," Walton said. "It was a great game."
