Police were called to a parking lot outside Pima Residence Hall, 1340 E. First St., Monday, after a Parking and Transportation Services employee discovered a number of the parking meters that had been covered with silicone, reports stated.

The silicone had been placed over the coin slots, rendering the machines inoperable, reports stated.

Police received several dispatches from other PTS employees who reported the same thing had been done to other machines in different locations on campus, reports stated.

PTS removed the silicone with knifes.

It is not clear why the damage was done, reports stated.

An unidentified subject vandalized a car in a lot outside Coronado Residence Hall, 855 E. 5th St., Monday, reports stated.

The owner of the vehicle parked the car with its hardtop down. When she returned a few hours later, she noticed the Zone 1 pass that had been hanging on her rearview mirror was missing. She secured her vehicle and left for the weekend, reports stated.

When she returned on Sunday, the woman discovered that someone had scratched the word "BITCH" into the right side of the vehicle's hood. The letters were approximately six inches tall, reports stated.

The owner told police she could not recall having any arguments or confrontations with anyone recently.

The driver of a white Chevy SUV ran over a City of Tucson parking sign on Fremont Street Saturday, after he jumped a curb and blew the vehicle's tires, reports stated.

Two witnesses gave the vehicle's license plate number to police, when they arrived at the scene.

Police found the vehicle in a parking lot on the north side of the Delta Tau Delta fraternity house. The vehicle had two flat tires, a piece of cactus hanging from the antenna and front-end damage, reports stated.

Police contacted the owner who was in the house. Police noticed that he appeared disoriented and did not know what had happened to him, reports stated.

The officer began to perform a DUI investigation until the vehicle's owner told him that he was a diabetic. Tucson Fire units responded to the scene, where they determined his blood sugar levels were extremely low, reports stated.

No citations were issued, given the driver's medical condition, reports stated.

Two subjects lead UAPD on a pursuit, which involved Tucson police units in the area surrounding the Arizona Health Sciences Center, 1501 N. Campbell Ave., Sunday, reports stated.

A UAPD unit initiated a traffic stop in an alley west of Olson Street after seeing a blue Ford Probe run red lights on East Speedway Boulevard at North Mountain and North Cherry avenues. A female passenger fled the scene with the driver after he stopped the car. Several units followed the man, who went toward the College of Nursing, 1305 N. Martin Ave.

One UAPD officer returned to the abandoned vehicle and found that the woman had gotten back in the car and was attempting to leave, reports stated.

The officer and two TPD officers initiated a "high-risk stop." They drew their guns and ordered the woman to get on the ground, reports stated.

The woman told police she had only known the man that she was riding with for a couple weeks. She said the only reason she ran was because she was afraid when he took off, reports stated.

After a search of the vehicle revealed no contraband, police released the woman, reports stated.

Other units saw the man enter the College of Nursing. They searched the building and found him hiding in a restroom. The man was able to evade police and ran out of the building, heading west on Mabel Street, reports stated.

A UAPD officer caught up with the man, got him on the ground and handcuffed him. He apologized to the officer and said he was a manic who didn't take medication regularly. He said that he did not want to run, but that he did impulsively, reports stated.

The man had a bump on his head, which he said he received after jumping over a wall and landing face first. He asked the officer to touch it but they declined. The man tried to tell all the officers at the scene that the arresting officer had not struck him but was "actually nice."

The man had a number of warrants from other jurisdictions in other states. Police did not serve any of them, but they took the man to UMC for treatment for his asthma, reports stated.

A UA student notified police after he received a threatening letter in his mailbox at Gila Residence Hall, 1009 E N. Campus Drive, Sunday, reports stated.

The note, which was written on a piece of toilet paper, said, "My heart bleeds for you mightily. I pray for the moment you realize that you feel the same for me. I know your girlfriend's phone number and social security number and where she lives to slash her body next Friday," reports stated.

A cut up picture of a clown face was glued on the paper.

Police took the note into evidence.
