Year: Redshirt freshman
Major: Physiological science
Highlight: Nelson scored five goals in the Wildcats' 10-0 win over Belmont on Saturday, which tied a school record. She added another goal on Sunday in a 2-1 loss to Kentucky, giving her a total of six goals in two days. She now is the team's leading goal scorer with seven.
Wildcat: What was it like to score five goals in one game?
Nelson: It was awfully, awfully exciting. There are no real words to describe it because it was so exhilarating.
Wildcat: Is this a story you will be telling your kids in 20 years?
Nelson: Definitely, definitely. I did it once or twice in high school, but I would never think of doing it at the collegiate level.
Wildcat: How are you going to exaggerate that one?
Nelson: I don't know, I guess I could exaggerate dribbling by the keeper three times.
Wildcat: What's your favorite TV show?
Nelson: Real World.
Wildcat: Who's your favorite Real World member?
Nelson: Cari from Chicago. She was kind of cute and sweet, but she had her moments of feistiness. She reminds me of my sister too.
Wildcat: What's your favorite band/artist?
Nelson: Faith Hill. I'm a huge Faith Hill fan. Her and Celine Dion, it's kind of a tie.
Wildcat: What's the best sports movie ever?
Nelson: "Remember the Titans."
Wildcat: What's your favorite thing to do when you are not playing soccer?
Nelson: Spending time with my boyfriend and my friends.
Wildcats: Who do you think will win the World Series?
Nelson: I don't really follow baseball, but I'll go with the Diamondbacks to win it again. Why not?
Wildcat: Name one thing you are afraid of.
Nelson: Drowning.
Wildcat: Are you not a good swimmer?
Nelson: I'm OK but I don't like playing those games in the water where you might go under and not come back up.
Wildcat: If you were stranded on an island, name three people you'd want with you.
Nelson: My boyfriend, my best friend and my younger brother.
Wildcat: What's your favorite thing about UA?
Nelson: The athletic community.
Wildcat: Word association: soccer
Nelson: Goal.
Wildcat: Wildcat.
Nelson: (makes a growling sound)
Wildcat: How do you spell that?
Nelson: I don't know, G. R. R. R. R. R.
Wildcat: Number 19.
Nelson: My birthday.
Wildcat: Coach Klein.
Nelson: Enthusiastic.
