Harassing phone call

A student contacted police Friday after she received a harassing phone call to her dorm room, reports stated.

The student told police that at about 2:20 p.m., a man called to her room in Coconino Residence Hall, 1003 N. Olive Road, and asked an explicit sexual question. The student said, "Excuse me," and the man then asked, "Do you want to help me come?" reports stated.

The student hung up the phone and used *57 to obtain a successful trace. The student could not identify any voice traits or background noise. She told officers she would like to identify the caller, and possibly press charges. The student told police that she definitely wants the caller to be told to stop making similar calls in the future, reports stated.

Marijuana possession

A student was cited for possession of marijuana, and another was cited for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia Friday, after they had smoked a "bowl" in a dorm room, reports stated.

At about 3 a.m., police went to Navajo Residence Hall, 1557 E. Sixth St., and spoke with a resident assistant. The resident assistant told police she had gone to a room to tell the occupants they were being too loud, when she smelled burning marijuana coming from the room.

Police went to the room and knocked on the door. They noticed a strong smell of burning marijuana coming from the room.

A student answered the door. Police asked if they could come in, and the student said, "Sure," opened the door and stepped back. Police entered the room and noticed the smell of marijuana was strong inside the room. They saw another student lying on one of the beds.

Next to this student, police saw a toilet paper roll with a dryer sheet rubber banded to the end of it. They also noticed a fan was on, pointed toward the window.

Officers saw a baggie containing 1.8 grams of a green leafy substance sitting on top of one of the desks.

Police spoke with the two students separately. One of the students told police that he lived in Coronado Residence Hall and did not know where the marijuana came from.

When asked, the student told the officer he had smoked, "just a bowl." At this time, the other student, who had been in the hallway speaking with another officer, entered the room and pulled a smoking pipe from the bed.

Police asked the student if he knew the pipe was there, and he said, "Yeah, that's what we used to smoke the pot," reports stated. Police began to ask him more questions, but the student refused to answer them, continually stating, "I don't know," reports stated. Another officer asked the student in the hallway who owned the marijuana, and he said, "It's mine."

The student told the officer they were at Coronado Residence Hall when they were approached by a man in the lobby.

"The male asked if I wanted some pot and I said, ÎYes,'" the student said, "I bought the marijuana and (the other student) and I came back here to smoke it."

Police asked how they had smoked the marijuana, and the student said, "out of my pipe," and he then went to retrieve it.

Both students were cited and released at the scene, reports stated.
