Harassing phone calls

A student reported receiving three harassing phone calls from a former friend Wednesday, reports stated.

The student told police that at about 3:45 a.m., she received three phone calls to her dorm room at Coronado Residence Hall, 822 E. Fifth St. The calls were made by a male student who used to be her friend, reports stated.

The caller made references to several e-mails in her personal e-mail account that he had somehow read, reports stated. She also said that on a previous date, the caller had been found sleeping in the stairwell of Coronado in an attempt to talk to her. The incident has been reported to Residence Life.

The student said she once was a friend of the caller, but does not want him to contact her again and will be willing to press charges if his behavior continues. She was advised to get an injunction against harassment if she believed his behavior would continue, in order to prevent future incidents. The caller was contacted and warned for harassment and trespassing, reports stated.

Fire on campus

The Tucson Fire Department put out a fire in a trash dumpster on campus Wednesday, reports stated.

At about 6 p.m., a resident assistant reported a fire on the south side of Pima Residence Hall, 1340 E. First St., in the dorm's trash dumpster, reports stated.

The resident assistant said she did not notice anyone or anything unusual around the residence hall before the fire was set. The Tucson Fire Department responded to the scene and put out the fire. There are no witnesses or suspects at this time, reports stated.

Hit and run

A student reported she was hit Wednesday by a car that did not stop, while she was crossing a crosswalk near campus, reports stated.

The student told officers she was walking in a crosswalk going westbound on the south side of East Speedway Boulevard at about 1 p.m.

As she crossed during a green light, an orange-colored two-door American car with California license plates hit her, reports stated.

The student hit the hood of the car on the driver's side and spun off the car. She was left kneeling on the ground as the car drove away eastbound on east Speedway Boulevard, reports stated.

The student said she saw the driver before he hit her and described him to police. As officers were walking with the student, she complained of pain in her left lower leg, reports stated.

Criminal damage

"Closet Homos" was written on a campus fraternity house Tuesday night, reports stated.

At about 12:10 a.m. on Wednesday, police went to the Chi Phi Fraternity House, 1104 E. Seventh St., and met with a student who reported the damage.

The student said there was graffiti on the front retaining wall on the north side of the house near the sidewalk.

The student said the incident occurred sometime between 9 p.m., and around midnight. He did not suspect anyone in particular and is unsure who may have caused the damage.

"Closet Homos" was written on the wall fifteen feet long and one foot high.

The student said there were no on-going battles with any other fraternity and that no one in the house had recently upset anyone to provoke the unsolicited appellation. No other damage was done to the property. As police were leaving, they saw fraternity members painting over the graffiti. There are no suspects or witnesses, reports stated.

Stolen bicycles

A student reported his $150 bicycle was stolen Monday at a campus area church, reports stated.

The student told police that at about 10 a.m. he locked his bike with a cable lock to the racks at the Church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints Institute of Religion, 1333 E. Second St.

When he returned to the racks an hour later, the bike was missing. The bike is described as a yellow Mongoose D40 series with full suspension shocks and an oversized and worn black seat. There are no witnesses or suspects, reports stated.

A student reported his $100 bike was stolen Monday, after he forgot to bring his bike lock to campus, reports stated. The student said he had ridden to school to take an exam and forgot his bike lock. He parked his bike at about 7:30 a.m. in the racks on the northeast corner of North Warren Avenue and East Mabel Street. He returned to the racks at 9:45 a.m., and discovered the bike was stolen.

There are no suspects, reports stated.
