· On Friday at 7:30 p.m., "Bossa Nova" will be shown by the International Arts Society Film Program in the Modern Languages building auditorium. This Brazilian musical, directed by Bruno Barreto and starring Amy Irving, tells the story of two people attempting to move on with their lives. Admission is free.
· On Saturday from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m., the Steven Baird Project will be performing their original folk-rock retro sound. This event will take place at Bookman's Used Books, 1930 E. Grant Rd. Admission is free. For more details, call Chris Stead at 325-5767.
· Turning Point will be playing Saturday afternoon at 4. This contemporary jazz group can be heard at Borders Books and Music, 5870 E. Broadway Blvd. Admission is free. For more details, call 584-0111.
· Saturday from 7 p.m. until 10 p.m., Everyday Cyrus will be performing at Udall Park, 7929 E. Tanque Verde Rd. This Phoenix-based band will be followed by speaker Crystal Woodman, a survivor of the Columbine High School massacre. For more information, call Steven Drew at 886-7770. Admission is free.
