AP Men's B-ball Poll

1. Florida (50) 18-2
2. Arizona (13) 16-2
3. Texas (5) 14-3
4. Pittsburgh 15-2
5. Louisville (4) 16-1
6. Kentucky 16-3
7. Oklahoma 15-3
8. Maryland 14-4
9. Duke 14-3
10. Notre Dame 18-3

In the world of college basketball rankings, it's all about "What have you done for me lately?"

The Florida Gators have been doing plenty lately, winning 14 straight games overall, including their first seven in Southeastern Conference play. That being said, the Gators took over the top spot in the polls yesterday for the first time in school history.

Arizona dropped just one spot after Thursday's loss to Stanford.

Four out of the five top teams each lost last week, giving way to the Gators.

But the road for Florida (18-2, 7-0 Southeastern Conference) doesn't look pretty with games against No. 6 Kentucky tonight and former number one and current No. 22 Alabama on Saturday.

The No. 2 Wildcats (16-2, 8-1 Pacific 10) have a much easier road as they travel to the Northwest to take on the Washington schools. UA received 13 first place votes compared to Florida's 50. No. 3 Texas and No. 5 Louisville also received first place votes. No. 4 Pittsburgh rounds out the top five.

Stanford and UA are the lone Pac-10 teams that are ranked in the Top 25, with Stanford just sneaking in at No. 25. Both Oregon and California dropped out of the rankings.

Kentucky, Oklahoma, Maryland, Duke and Notre Dame round out the top 10.
