King of the hill, queen of the circle

Channing Frye had a good weekend, if you couldn't tell by the amount of articles and columns in Tucson.

While I wish to take nothing away from his dominating weekend öö particularly against USC öö Frye was one of many Wildcats recognized for their achievements.

UA first baseman Wendy Allen's ground out to second base drove in the ninth UA run to conclude the Pepsi Arizona Softball Classic tournament. The win brought Arizona's season record to 13-1. [Read article]

Lobos spoil men's rugby's Parents' Day

Men's rugby loses to rugby national power New Mexico 41-22

The men's rugby program had plenty to celebrate about during the festivities surrounding its first ever Parents' Day -- until its varsity played New Mexico, losing 41-22.

The Wildcats (4-4, 1-1), a team without one scholarship player on roster, fell to the Lobos (11-2), who boast 17 players on scholarship, many from rugby hotbeds such as Paraguay and Uruguay. [Read article]
