Just three days after posting the second-best score in team history and tying Washington, the Arizona gymnastics team put up the third-best score in its history ÷ and lost.

Last night in Denton, Texas, the No. 11 Gymcats (7-3-1, 2-2-1 Pacific 10 Conference) scored 197.050 in a dual meet against Texas Woman's University and Louisiana State, but narrowly lost to the Tigers, who scored 197.100. Both teams beat TWU by a wide margin.

Arizona's effort was highlighted by a pair of perfect scores.

Senior Andi McCabe notched her first 10 on the vault en route to setting a career-high in the all-around with a 39.575 to win the event.

Junior Katie Johnson followed up McCabe's perfect effort with a 10 on the floor exercise, which was also the first of her career.

LSU bested the Gymcats by .050 points due to a trio of perfect scores ÷ one each from April Buckholder, Nikki Butler and Terin Martinjak.

Arizona eclipsed the 197 mark for the second consecutive meet, a feat which the team had never accomplished.

The Gymcats will participate in their third event in a week Friday, when they travel to Tempe to face Arizona State at 7:30 p.m. in Wells Fargo Arena.
