This week's winners ... and losers

A bomb ÷ Classroom nudists. As one letter writer suggested, exhibitionists like Matthew Kramer, a former student who showed up naked to a philosophy seminar last week, detract from the artful professionalism of seasoned ÷ and weathered ÷ streakers.

The bomb ÷ Current and future ASUA senators coming out of their cave to attend the Arizona Board of Regents tuition hearing. The catch: Most of them happen to be campaigning for office. Maybe someone should remind them that the regents can't vote in the upcoming Associated Students of the University of Arizona election.

A bomb ÷ The hype around "The Passion." It's unfortunate that this film received so much criticism months before its release ÷ by people who hadn't even seen it. Besides, it's just a movie! Everyone, take a deep breath. And please, buy a ticket to the film before blowing a gasket.

A bomb ÷ Sophomore hoops guard Salim Stoudamire. The last thing the Wildcats need during their slump are problems off the court ÷ and now, those problems have obviously become issues on the court as well. Behave yourself, Salim.

The bomb ÷ Ralph Nader, for finally giving the Democrats something to unite around: their animosity toward him. Whether he robbed Al Gore in the 2000 presidential race is beside the point. The real problem is that he's been around the block more than a few times; it's time for him to stop driving in circles and move on down the road.

A bomb ÷ The women's lacrosse team, for forcing new recruits to perform humiliating acts, including "banana blow jobs," to earn a spot on the team. In other blow job news, congrats to the Northern Arizona University columnist who blew away readers with her artful piece on "oral manipulation."

The bomb ÷ Junior center Channing Frye, for not minding the gap in the men's basketball game against Oregon Thursday, and again last night in the loss to Washington. The hoops star needed some dental work after a head-on collision left him chagrined (and sans grin), but he didn't let that stop him from taking it to the Ducks in a 100-87 UA win last week.
