Tuition hike needed for Mt. Graham exploits
Of course the UA must raise tuition. President Likins chooses to continue spending general university funds for his Mount Graham telescopes. More than $32 million, or more than $1,100 per undergraduate, has been spent so far. Someone has to pay.

FULLY IN TACT: Fortune cookie predicts bleak future
When I was a kid, I'd go through fortune cookies by the bagful, discarding the crunchy goodness and gathering up my fortunes in my grubby hands, sometimes waiting to read them until I had a big pile to go through all at once. If one fortune seemed to repeat itself an extraordinary number of times, then that was the one that would come true. Starry-eyed, I would place it in my crumb-filled lap.
Without fail, though, the repeating theme was something like, "The warm rays of heaven shine down upon you," or, "You should not waste food so."

Issue of the Week: President Bush campaign ads
Now that it seems apparent John Kerry will be the Democratic nominee, the focus has turned to the big showdown in November. President Bush has started running campaign ads, many of which incorporate images of the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. The commercials have sparked heated opposition from some victims' rights groups that allege President Bush is capitalizing on tragedy for personal gain. We asked our columnists: "Is Bush playing fair? Are the ads in good taste, or should they be pulled?"
