A student's ex-boyfriend called her Wednesday from the parking lot of Hopi Residence Hall, 1440 E. Fourth St., violating an order of protection the student had against him, reports stated.

The student admitted to police that she had the ex-boyfriend in her dorm room on two incidents prior to the phone calls.

Police told the student she was not supposed to have any contact with the ex-boyfriend.

The student said, "He is very convincing and manipulates me," reports stated.

The student told police the ex-boyfriend was on probation for assaulting her and was known for using cocaine.

The student also told police the ex-boyfriend owned several shotguns.

The ex-boyfriend had told the student he would kill her, bury her in the desert and make it so no one could recognize her, reports stated.

The student told police she feared for her safety.

Police searched the area for the ex-boyfriend, but were unable to find him.

The student was told to not allow the ex-boyfriend into her room again, reports stated.


Someone stole a $1,200 Gateway laptop sometime between Tuesday and Wednesday from a room in the South Hall building, 1042 E. South Campus Drive, reports stated.

The owner of the laptop said she had locked the room around 5 p.m. on Tuesday, and when she came back around 8 a.m. on Wednesday, the laptop was gone.

Police found no signs of forced entry.

The owner said a key to the room had been reported missing earlier in the semester and never been found.

Police have no suspects or witnesses, reports stated.


Police found a black Saturn with its hazard lights on and hood up Thursday morning on East Speedway Boulevard near North Euclid Avenue, reports stated.

No one was around the Saturn and police were unable to contact the owner.

The Saturn was towed, reports stated.


A student's car was stolen Thursday while parked in a Zone 1 lot, 1904 E. Helen St., reports stated.

The student told police she had parked her car and locked it around 7:45 a.m., and when she returned around 12:30 p.m., her car was gone and another car was parked in her space.

Police were unable to contact the owner of the other car.

Police found glass on the ground where the stolen car had been.

Police have no suspects or witnesses, reports stated.


A couple was arguing Thursday night in a Zone 1 lot, 520 N. Euclid Ave., reports stated.

When police arrived, a student told them she and her boyfriend had been arguing.

The student said she was two hours late picking up her boyfriend because she had gotten in a car accident.

The student told police her boyfriend was mad when she arrived because he had been waiting two hours in the sun and had been worried about her.

The student and her boyfriend both said they had just been arguing and neither one had hit the other, reports stated.

Police warned both the student and her boyfriend.


A window was broken Wednesday in the Gould-Simpson building, 1040 E. Fourth St., reports stated.

When police arrived, they saw a hole in the window the size of a softball and broken glass in the area.

Police have no suspects or witnesses, reports stated.


A $235 card receiver and aluminum post were damaged Wednesday at the Main Gate Garage, 815 E. Second St., reports stated.

It looked like a side-view mirror had hit the card receiver and post, damaging them.

When police arrived, the damaged receiver and post had already been replaced by Parking and Transportation Services.

Police have no suspects or witnesses, reports stated.


Three pool cues worth $20 each, three Plexiglas windows worth $100 each and three pool balls worth $30 each were damaged sometime between March 9 and March 22 at a Park Student Union pool table, 615 N. Park Ave., reports stated.

Employees of Park Union told police they had seen several juveniles around the pool tables during that time.

The juveniles had been asked to leave one time because they were being disruptive, reports stated.

Police have no suspects.


Someone cut a hammock that was hanging in front of Cochise Residence Hall, 1018 E. South Campus Drive, Wednesday, reports stated.

The owner of the hammock said he had left the hammock hanging between two trees around 7 p.m., and when he returned an hour later, the hammock had been cut in two places.

Police have no suspects or witnesses, reports stated.
