A student's $15 walking stick was stolen Thursday morning from the Main Library, 1510 E. University Blvd., reports stated.

The student told police he set the walking stick against a lobby wall around 9 a.m. and that when he returned around 11 a.m. the stick was gone.

The student said the walking stick was from his sensei and had been imported from Japan.

Police have no suspects or witnesses, reports stated.

A UA employee received a suspicious letter Thursday morning at the Administration building, 1401 E. University Blvd., reports stated.

When police arrived the employee told them she had opened the letter and found a 3-by-5-inch notecard inside a Ziploc bag, which had an unknown substance in it.

The card said, "This is West Nile larva, what do you think?"

The employee told police she had no idea who the letter could be from, reports stated.

The letter was taken to UAPD where it was sprayed and disposed of.

Police have no suspects or witnesses, reports stated.

A $5,400 golf cart was stolen Tuesday from the Education building, 1430 E. Second St., and was later returned, reports stated.

When police arrived, a UA employee told them he had parked the golf cart around 4 p.m. when he returned five minutes later, he said, was gone.

The employee called police less than an hour later to tell them the golf cart had been found.

The employee said he saw a man driving the golf cart at the corner of East Second Street and North Mountain Avenue.

The employee attempted to follow the man but lost him at a red light. The employee then returned to the Education building and found the golf cart there. There was no sign of the man who had been driving it, reports stated.

Police found no damage to the golf cart and suspected that the man who had been driving it had a key.

Police have no suspects, reports stated.

Two juveniles were caught stealing several markers from the UofA Bookstore, 1209 E. University Blvd., on the afternoon of April 10, reports stated.

When police arrived, an employee told them she was watching the store through a closed-circuit televion system and saw the two juveniles put markers in their pockets. They had not left the bookstore yet, she told police.

Police then saw the two juveniles leave the bookstore and told them to stop.

One of the juveniles said, "We'll take them back," reports stated.

When police asked what they meant, the juvenile said he'd take back the pens they had stolen. The two juveniles then took several markers out of their pockets.

They told police they were from California and were visiting a friend.

The juveniles said they could not remember their friend's last name or where he lived.

Police booked the two juveniles into Pima County Juvenile Corrections for stealing, and attempted to contact their parents, reports stated.

More than $1,000 in golf clubs and a $250 stereo faceplate were stolen from a student's car April 10 while it was parked in a Zone 1 lot on the corner of East Helen Street and North Vine Avenue, reports stated.

When police arrived, they saw the student's car had a cracked dashboard.

The student told police he had parked his car around 1 p.m. and returned an hour later to find his golf clubs and faceplate gone.
