Junior basketball, baseball strike gold international games
The United States' gold medal parade started early, with the national baseball team and World Championship for Young Men qualifying basketball team each winning their tournaments over the weekend.
USA basketball won the FIBA Americas World Championship For Young Men qualifying tournament in Halifax, Canada. USA baseball won the FISU World University Baseball Championship in Tainan, Taiwan.
Arizona junior forward Hassan Adams and sophomore point guard Mustafa Shakur were on the 20-and-under American men's team (5-0 in the tourney). Adams tallied 12 points, had three rebounds and two steals in the 97-86 win over the Puerto Ricans and UA freshman Jesus Verdejo.

Pac-10 media picks football team to finish last, again
All Division I-A opponents and Wildcats receive votes in ESPN coaches poll
At the Pacific 10's annual Media Day, the Arizona football team was picked to finish last, but the Wildcats are confident they will become the latest 10th-place pick to have a winning record.
In head coach Mike Stoops's first year, the Wildcats were picked to finish 10th by the West Coast Media, which regularly covers the league.
