An employee of the UA Writing Skills Improvement Program office, 1221 E. Helen St., called police Tuesday after a maintenance worker found human feces under a table outside the office, reports stated.

The employee said there had been previous problems with a nearby house inhabited by college students. The employee said the residents of the house often threw parties that resulted in a large amount of littering, reports stated.

The employee also said transients often congregated behind the office, reports stated.

The reporting officer suggested that UAPD step up patrols in the area, reports stated.


A UA student reported his bicycle stolen from the Medical Library, 1501 N. Campbell Ave., on Tuesday, reports stated.

The student said he used a chain lock through the frame and front tire of his red mountain bike to a rack near at the library. The bike was estimated to be worth $20, reports stated.

Police have no suspects or witnesses, reports stated.


A UA student called UAPD Tuesday after his bicycle was stolen from the east side of Douglass Building, 1100 E. University Blvd., reports stated.

The student said she used a cable lock through both tires and frame of her gray and blue Trek mountain bike. She also locked her helmet to the bike, which had a basket attached to the back of the frame, reports stated.

Police have no suspects or witnesses, reports stated.


A student called UAPD Monday after he realized that somebody had stolen his license plate and replaced it with another, reports stated.

The replaced license plate belonged to a car that was reported stolen when it was run through the police database, reports stated.

The student first called UAPD when he found a UA Parking and Transportation boot and ticket on his Honda Accord. It was parked in the Sixth Street Garage, reports stated.

Police removed the boot from the car and took the stolen license plate into evidence, reports stated.


Police officers arrested a man for outstanding warrants after he was seen looking through a bike rack at the Main Library, 1510 E. University Blvd., on Monday, reports stated.

The man was first reported to be looking at bikes locked at the library. The same witness flagged down a UAPD officer after he saw the man near the East Forth Street and North Cherry Avenue intersection, reports stated.

When police questioned the man, he said he was looking for his bike and couldn't remember where he had parked it. Police also noted that the man smelled of intoxicants, reports stated.

After running is name through the police database, police found that he was wanted on warrants for drinking in public and failure to appear in court, reports stated.

The man had a backpack with utility gloves, a mini flashlight and a utility tool. The items and the backpack were placed into evidence, reports stated.


A handgun, golf clubs, a car stereo and a wallet were stolen from two cars parked at the Rincon Track, 501 S. Plumer Ave., on Sunday, reports stated.

A robber broke into a 1998 Honda through the front passenger side window and took a Glock 27 Handgun, golf clubs, CDs and an Alpine stereo, reports stated.

A cell phone and a wallet with four credit cards were stolen from a Lexus SUV parked in the same lot, reports stated.

The robber broke into the vehicles between 4:15 p.m. and 5:35 p.m. Police have no suspects or witnesses, reports stated.


A student called UAPD Monday after his $800 Travel Pro travel bag was stolen as he was moving out of his house, reports stated.

The student said he put the bag down while he was carrying other items out and when he returned, it was gone, reports stated.

Police have no suspects or witnesses, reports stated.


A student called UAPD after his bike was stolen from the Harvill building, 1103 E. Second St., on Tuesday, reports stated.

The student said he locked his blue Motive mountain bike to a rack west of the building at 2 p.m. He used a cable lock through the front tire and bike frame. Police have no suspects or witnesses, reports stated.


A bike was stolen from the Bio Sciences East building, 1330 E. South Campus Dr., on Tuesday, reports stated.

The student locked his red and black Giant brand bicycle to a rack on the north side of the building at noon. When he returned at 5:30 p.m., the bike was missing. He used a cable lock, which was also stolen, reports stated.

Police have no suspects or witnesses, reports stated.
