Cats make final move
O'Hara leaves men's basketball roster to focus on football
The No. 7 Arizona men's basketball team may finally be ready to start firing on all cylinders after completing what appears to be its final roster change of the season.
Forward Ryan O'Hara left the team earlier this week to return to his signal-calling duties with the Arizona football team, following a nine-game stint with the UA hoops squad.

Bonvicini offered contract extension
Arizona women's basketball head coach Joan Bonvicini has been offered a contract extension by the UA, according to the coach.
Bonvicini said she's "ready to sign it" but refused to disclose the details of the extension.
"I'm very happy to stay here and stay in Tucson," Bonvicini added.
Bonvicini is in her 13th season as Arizona's head women's basketball coach. She is the winningest coach in the history of UA women's hoops, tallying a mark of 226-143 at Arizona - a .612 winning percentage. She's led the Wildcats to five NCAA Tournament appearances in the last seven seasons, including a Sweet Sixteen berth in 1997-98. She guided the team to a Women's NIT championship in 1995-96.

Stoudamire cracks 1,000 point barrier
Salim Stoudamire provided one of the few highlights for the Wildcats in Arizona's 82-72 loss to No. 4 Stanford on Saturday. After being kept off the scoreboard in the first half against the Cardinal, the junior became the 37th player in Wildcat history to reach 1,000 career points. The Portland, Ore., native's second half layup put him at 1,002 for his career.
Stoudamire needed just 76 games to achieve the mark, averaging 13.2 points per game. In the loss to the Cardinal, the junior matched former Wildcat guard Miles Simon for sixth place overall in career 3-pointers with 176. In 12 games this season, Stoudamire is tied for second on the team with center Channing Frye, averaging 14.8 points per game.

A successful holiday run ended in disappointment for the UA men's basketball team, which fell to conference rival Stanford on Saturday.
The Cardinal put a halt to Arizona's steady rise to No. 3 in The Associated Press' rankings, dropping the Wildcats to No. 7 in the nation. Arizona finished winter break with a 5-1 record, playing all six games in the Grand Canyon state.
