A woman held a meat cleaver to a man's throat Sunday night during a dispute between the two at Palm Shadows Apartments, 1816 E. Helen St., reports stated.

When police arrived, they found the man on the stairway. When asked if he was injured, the man pointed to the apartment and said, "No, I'm fine, she's in there. She's in there."

Police entered the apartment and asked the women to put her hands up, reports stated.

The woman replied, "Don't listen to him, he is lying. I'm not the danger."

According to reports, the woman was uncooperative and was eventually forced to the ground and handcuffed.

A witness later said he had seen the woman place the cleaver against the man's throat, reports stated.

Police found the meat cleaver on a nearby table, reports stated.


Four UA students were charged with drug possession Monday night near the Arizona International College, 1618 E. Helen St., after an officer smelt burning marijuana and observed smoke, reports stated.

When the officer approached the students, he noticed that they had red, watery eyes, reports stated.

The students admitted to smoking marijuana and allowed themselves to be searched, reports stated.

Police confiscated several bags of a green leafy substance and two pipes, reports stated.

The students were charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, reports stated.


A man required stitches in his right ear after a car hit him while he crossed East Speedway Boulevard Monday morning, reports stated.

The driver of the vehicle was turning left on a green light. He said that the glare of the sun prevented him from seeing the pedestrian, reports stated.

After hitting the pedestrian, the driver transported the man to UMC, where he was treated for abrasions on his head, right shoulder, hands and knees as well as a two-inch laceration to his ear, reports stated.

According to reports, the car's windshield was shattered and its front right turn signal was damaged.

The driver was cited for failing to control speed to avoid an accident.


A student's $400 mountain bike was stolen from the Student Recreation Center, 1400 E. Sixth St., Monday afternoon, reports stated.

The student had locked his black Mongoose with a cable lock and a pad lock around 12:30 p.m. When he returned at 2:30 p.m., the bike was gone, reports stated.

Police have no suspects or witnesses.


A student's bike was stolen from the Robert L. Nugent building, 1212 E. University Blvd., Monday night after securing it with a Kryptonite cable lock, reports stated.

The student told police he believed his $150 red Mongoose was taken between 5 p.m. and 7:10 p.m., reports stated.

Police have no suspects or witnesses.


A student's bike was stolen from Arizona/Sonora Residence Hall, 910 E. Fifth St., sometime over winter break, reports stated.

The student told police she locked her teal and light blue Huffy mountain bike with both a cable and a U-lock, reports stated.

The bike cost $230, reports stated.

Police have no suspects or witnesses.


A student's TV was stolen from his room in Coronado Residence Hall, 822 E. Fifth St., Sunday, reports stated.

The student told police he believed his former roommate took the TV, reports stated.

The room did not appear to be broken into, and there were no other items reported missing, reports stated.

Police confiscated four surveillance tapes from Coronado for investigation, reports stated.


A woman turned over a glass smoking pipe to police Monday after she discovered the item in a brown leather cigarette case, reports stated.

The woman looked for identification after she found the cigarette holder and reported the item to police after finding the pipe, reports stated.

The pipe was placed into property to be destroyed, reports stated.
