Australian Lindner returns from second ACL injury
Nothing has come easily in America for Katrina Lindner. A 5-foot-6 redshirt sophomore from Glengowrie, a suburb of Adelaide, South Australia, Katrina came to the UA in 2001 as the first Aussie to play women's basketball under head coach Joan Bonvicini.
Lindner, whom her coach describes as a student-athlete who excels in the classroom and possesses tremendous leadership ability, has been an asset to the team, whether or not she's been able to contribute on the court.

Cats hope to regroup on road against USC

Originally drafted by the Houston Thunder last month in the National Pro Fast Pitch draft, Vandergeest was traded to the Arizona Heat this week for the draft rights of Liz Bouck (DePaul), Amanda Jensen (Olivet Nazarene) and Rosette Rough (Long Island). Since she still has a year remaining at the UA, Vandergeest cannot sign a contract, but the other three can.

Football adds two coaches to 2004 staff
New head football coach Mike Stoops filled two more vacancies on his coaching staff yesterday, hiring Mike Canales as offensive coordinator and Mike Tuiasosopo to coach defensive linemen.
Canales comes to Tucson after a year spent coaching wide receivers for the NFL's New York Jets.
He has also orchestrated the passing game at North Carolina State and worked under current USC offensive coordinator Norm Chow, who was a candidate for the UA head coaching vacancy.
