Shot-swatting ability of Adams, Frye keeps opponents guessing
Kyle Jeffers of Oregon State found out the hard way. Jim Hanchett should have learned from his teammate.
After Jeffers' shot attempt landed in his teammate's arms, Hanchett tried a shot of his own. It wound up four rows deep in the McKale Center crowd during Thursday's 109-75 Arizona win.
The culprit? Arizona's aerial assailant, Hassan Adams.

Cat Tracking: Red Sox skipper Terry Francona
Walking onto the field at Frank Sancet Stadium Saturday, Terry Francona hardly looked like a former ballplayer. Hatless, with a shaved head bowed slightly to match his slack posture, the 44-year-old South Dakota native would have fit right in with the reporters in his rumpled casual wear.
He might have been taken for just about anything except what his former coach, UA wins leader Jerry Kindall, would later call him: "A baseball guy."

Women's Hoops Notes: Cardinal loss causes havoc atop Pacific 10
For the Arizona women's hoops team, it's a nine-game race for the Pacific 10 Conference title.
After Southern California upended Stanford 59-56 Saturday, the Wildcats (16-4, 8-1 Pac-10) moved into a first-place conference tie with the Cardinal.
"I think the big thing for us is we control our destiny," head coach Joan Bonvicini said.
Arizona is off to its best Pac-10 start in history and has matched its second-best start through its first 20 games.

Football hopes to reopen Islands to recruiting
Though he came late in the recruiting process, Arizona football coaches are hoping that defensive tackles coach Mike Tuiasosopo will help reopen the Pacific Ocean's Islands up to the UA ÷ a connection that disappeared under John Mackovic.
"His connection to the Islands is a connection that we need to re-establish here at Arizona," said Arizona head coach Mike Stoops in his first address to the media since his hiring.
