Wildcats prep to cage Tigers
LSU comes to Tucson tomorrow to battle Arizona
After annihilating the first team on the schedule ÷ and potentially earning respect and integrity ÷ the Wildcats face an opponent this weekend that doesn't look to have many chinks in its armor.
No. 13 Louisiana State, which beat Louisiana-Monroe 49-7 last Saturday, will face the Wildcats for the first time since 1985 ÷ a game Arizona lost 26-27.

Volleyball drops first two home matches
The UA volleyball team's woes in the Four Points University Plaza Wildcat Classic continued on Thursday as they fell to unranked San Diego State and No. 20 Santa Clara, both in four games.
The No. 10 Wildcats (2-3) lost to the Aztecs (2-1) 33-31, 24-30, 23-30, 27-30 and to the Broncos (2-1) 28-30, 30-21, 27-30, 30-32.
Despite having a 41-14 record in the 20-year-old tournament, Arizona has lost four of its last five matches in the Wildcat Classic, including to Nebraska and Pepperdine last year.

Analysis: LSU wideouts among nation's best
With receivers like Washington's Reggie Williams, USC's Mike Williams and Washington State's Devard Darling, the Pacific 10 Conference is loaded with talent at the wideout position.
In order for the Wildcats to be successful this season, the defense will have to do a good job containing those receivers.
However, the job of stopping NFL-caliber receivers doesn't start when Arizona opens Pac-10 play. It starts tomorrow night at 7 p.m., when the Wildcats face No. 13 Louisiana State at Arizona Stadium.

Soccer looks to tame Tigers
The Arizona soccer team (1-1-0) has packed those blue equipment bags and are ready to go for Dan Tobias' maiden voyage, as the Wildcats begin their road season in Columbia, Mo. for the Nike-Tiger Invitational.
No, the Nike-sponsored golfer is not involved, but rather the University of Missouri (2-0-0), which plays host to the tournament. Joining the Wildcats and Tigers for the ride are Purdue (1-0-1) and Arkansas (0-2-0).
