A student was arrested Tuesday for assaulting an employee in the Student Union Memorial Center, 1030 E. University Blvd., reports stated.

The employee told police she was walking across campus when she noticed a large crowd gathered around a preacher, reports stated.

The employee noticed a woman approaching the preacher with a pie behind her back, reports stated.

The employee suspected the woman was going to throw the pie, so she called police, reports stated.

The student noticed the employee was calling the police, so after the woman threw the pie, he whisked her away to the student union, reports stated.

The employee followed them into the student union and noticed the student and woman enter a bathroom, reports stated.

The employee said when the student came out of the bathroom he struck her across her right check, leaving it red and swollen, reports stated.

The responding officer radioed a description of the student and another officer stopped him on East Fourth Street and North Santa Rita Avenue, reports stated.

The employee confirmed he was the student who struck her and said she wanted to press charges, reports stated.

The man was cited and released at the scene.

A student's backpack was stolen and later found with items missing Tuesday night in Crowder Hall, 1030 N. Olive Road, reports stated.

The student said she left the backpack backstage at 6:30 p.m. because she had rehearsal with the community civil orchestra, reports stated.

She returned at 8 p.m. and the backpack was missing, reports stated.

Someone found the backpack in the mens' dressing room, but the student said some items that were inside had been stolen, reports stated.

The student told police some of the items missing included keys to rooms and labs in the BioSciences West, Chemistry and Life Sciences buildings, reports stated.

Other stolen items included identification cards and credit cards, reports stated.

Police advised the woman to call her financial institutions so she would not be a victim of identity theft, reports stated.

Police have no suspects or witnesses.

A student's ex-boyfriend followed her Tuesday from her class to her vehicle, which was parked on 1340 E. University Blvd., and spit in her face, reports stated.

The student said her ex-boyfriend was waiting outside of her class and followed her as she walked, reports stated.

The student told him she did not want to see him anymore and asked him to stop following her, reports stated.

The student's ex-boyfriend then spit in her face, reports stated.

The student told police she did not want to press any charges, reports stated.

Someone damaged a mirror on a student's car Tuesday while it was parked on 421 N. Cherry Ave., reports stated.

The student said she parked her car at 11 a.m. and when she returned at 2:30 p.m., the passenger side mirror was broken off and hanging by the cable, reports stated.

Police have no suspects or witnesses.

A student's mountain bike was stolen from the Theatre Arts building, 1025 N. Olive Road, reports stated.

The student chained the bike up to the bike rack at 2 p.m., and when he returned at 4 p.m., the bike was missing, reports stated.

Police checked the area for evidence but found none, reports stated.

Police have no suspects or witnesses.

Someone wrote graffiti on a stairwell sometime between Feb. 21 and Tuesday in the Student Union Memorial Center, 1303 E. University Blvd, reports stated.

The word "bank" was written in white, reports stated.

An employee said he left the Student Union around 8:30 p.m. Feb. 21 and the stairwell did not have graffiti, reports stated.

Another employee noticed the graffiti at 11 a.m. Tuesday and contacted police, reports stated.

Student Union custodial workers were on their way to clean up the graffiti when police arrived on the scene, reports stated.

Police have no suspects or witnesses.

A student's bike was stolen sometime between Feb. 17 and Tuesday from the bike racks at La Aldea Residence Hall, 825 E. Fifth St., reports stated.

The student told police he locked his mountain bike with a U-Lock and when he returned a few days later, it was missing, reports stated.
