Question: After 17 years in a vegetative state, Terri Schiavo had her feeding tube removed this month after her husband won a court order. Now Congress and President Bush are getting involved to try and force the tube back in. What is your take on the situation?

Nicky Martin
psychology sophomore
“It’s sad that she has to die, but it’s selfish for her parents to try to hold on to her life.”
Keval Patel
engineering freshman
“I think it should be the choice of the parents.”

Kat Kemper
undeclared freshman
“I think it’s wrong Michael Schiavo gets money out of killing someone.”
Danny DeVito
business freshman
“I think it should be the husband’s choice because he’s the closest member of her family.”

Mike Lopez
undeclared freshman
“It’s an unfortunate situation, but after that long, time’s up. It’s cruel and unusual punishment to keep her alive.”
Morgan White
psychology freshman
“The government needs to stop intervening in issues like this. Religion is getting too involved in politics.”
