A student was arrested for possession of a fake ID Tuesday at East Second Street and North Mountain Avenue, reports stated.

Police said the student crossed at a crosswalk that displayed a solid red hand signal, reports stated.

The student saw the police car and showed his middle finger, reports stated.

Police yelled to the student in a loud voice for him to stop, and the student eventually turned around and approached the car, reports stated.

Police asked to see identification and the student took out a license, looked at it briefly and put it back, reports stated.

The student reached into the wallet again and pulled out a different license, reports stated.

Police asked the student to see the first license, reports stated.

The fake license stated the student was born two years earlier than he really was, reports stated.

The student said he purchased the fake ID from an unknown student for $150, reports stated.

Police placed the illegal license into evidence, reports stated.

The student was cited and released on the scene and police warned him about abiding by traffic laws.


Police assisted University Medical Center security with an uncooperative woman March 21, reports stated.

Police arrived at UMC, 1501 N. Campbell Ave., at 1:26 p.m. and saw the woman sitting in a chair, reports stated.

A doctor told police the woman needed to be committed because he feared for her safety, reports stated.

Police and UMC security escorted the woman to the proper medical unit, but she refused to get on the elevator, reports stated

The woman screamed, "No, no, no, you can't make me go," and she wouldn't listen to verbal commands, reports stated.

Police handcuffed the woman and she stopped resisting, reports stated.

UMC security and hospital staff finished escorting the woman to the emergency room, reports stated.


An employee reported a suspicious man hanging unauthorized political fliers around the Art building, 1031 N. Olive Road, Tuesday, reports stated.

The employee said she saw a man hanging the fliers on a bulletin board for department use only, reports stated.

The employee confronted the man and he said he did not have permission from the department head to post anything on the board, reports stated.

The man told the employee he was a student but would not give his name, reports stated.

The employee said she noticed the man had posted fliers and fake money all over a tree outside the building, reports stated.

Police have no suspects or witnesses.


Someone stole a Zone 1 parking permit out of a student's car Tuesday when it was parked in a Zone 1 parking lot, 1224 N. Martin Ave. reports stated.

The student returned from class to find a parking ticket and the permit was gone, reports stated.

The student told police he did not lock his vehicle, reports stated.

Nothing else was missing from the student's car and it did not have any damage, reports stated.

Police have no suspects or witnesses.


Someone stole a stereo from a woman's car Tuesday from a Zone 1 parking lot, 421 N. Cherry Ave., reports stated.

The women went to class at noon, returned at 7 p.m. and noticed her car had been broken into, reports stated.

The driver's-side door was unlocked but the student said she remembered locking the car before she left for class, reports stated.

Police have no suspects or witnesses.


A student saw a man trying to steal his motorcycle Tuesday from a Zone 1 parking lot, 1415 E. Fourth St., reports stated.

The student said he secured the motorcycle before leaving for spring break, reports stated.

When he returned to get the motorcycle, he noticed a man tampering with the ignition, reports stated.

The man left the scene and the student could not insert the key to his motorcycle, reports stated.

Police have no suspects or other witnesses.
