A man was cited for possession of marijuana April 19 after he admitted he was an illegal immigrant from Mexico, reports stated.

Police were patrolling at East Ninth Street and North Campbell Avenue and stopped the man's car because it had a broken windshield, reports stated.

Police did a records check on the man's license plate and found he had a warrant for his arrest, reports stated.

The man said, "I'm not going to lie to you, I'm an illegal alien," reports stated.

Police smelled an odor of marijuana and asked the man if they could search the car, reports stated.

The man was cooperative and police found a bag of marijuana under the driver's seat, reports stated.

The man said the marijuana belonged to him, reports stated.

Police cited the man for possession of marijuana and turned him over to the U.S. Border Patrol, reports stated.

A student was cited and released Wednesday for possession of marijuana in his Kaibab-Huachuca Residence Hall room, 922 E. Fifth St., reports stated.

A resident assistant contacted police because an odor of marijuana was coming from a student's room, reports stated.

Police arrived on the scene and smelled marijuana, reports stated.

The student said he smoked marijuana four hours earlier at a friend's house, reports stated.

Police asked the student if he had any marijuana in his room and he said, "Yes, but only for personal use," reports stated.

Police found two bags containing a green, leafy substance and a grinder in the student's pocket, reports stated.

The student had a friend who was in the room, but the student said his friend did not know about the marijuana and he came over for a haircut, reports stated.

The student was cited and released on the scene.

Two women and a man approached a student and threw a rock at him near the Social Sciences building, 1145 E. South Campus Drive, reports stated.

The student said the three individuals approached him and asked if he was registered to vote, reports stated.

The student said he was late for class and he is a registered voter, reports stated.

The man told the student he did not have to answer the question in a rude way, reports stated.

The student said he turned his back to the three individuals, and one of them threw a rock at him, reports stated.

The student waited about six hours before he reported it to police, reports stated.

The student told police he waited to report it because he did not want to waste their time and he was not injured, reports stated.

Police have no suspects or witnesses.

Police arrested a man for possession of marijuana Wednesday when they pulled his car over on East Silverlake Road and South Frontier Road, reports stated.

Police did a records check on the man and found he had a warrant, reports stated.

Police could smell marijuana coming from the car and asked the man if he had any contraband, reports stated.

The man said, "Yeah, sure go ahead," reports stated.

Police searched the man and his car and found 8.2 grams of marijuana, reports stated.

The man was cited and released on the scene.

A man was arrested for criminal trespassing and false reporting to a police officer because he kept returning to Gila Residence Hall, 1009 E. North Campus Drive, reports stated.

Employees contacted police at 4:17 p.m. to report a man who kept returning to Gila to sell magazine subscriptions, reports stated.

The hall director said employees asked the man to leave twice that day and once the day before, reports stated.

Police found the man at 4:37 p.m. at East Speedway Boulevard and North Park Avenue, reports stated.

The man said he kept returning to the hall "because the people were so nice and the girls are hot," reports stated.

The man said he was trying to sell magazines to the Gila residents, reports stated.

Police asked the man for the name and phone number of his boss, but the man said he did not know it, reports stated.

Police found the name and phone number of his boss on the inside of his order book, reports stated.

The man was cited and released on the scene.
