Watering lawn with recycled water saves UA; makes lawn vibrant for summer

Over the course of three years, facilities management and a UA Mall panel committee have come up with ways to water the Mall lawn during the hot summer months while ensuring proper conservation of water through the best possible means.

Using the correct water and deciding when to irrigate the lawns is a task that can help save the UA time, money and wasted energy it need not expend if those in charge at the UA's facilities management assume correct and precautious measures. [Read article]

    UA student chosen for health internship

    A UA student was honored in a national health internship program for talented minorities.

    Candice Donald, a community health education alumna, was one of only 16 college students chosen to represent the Barbara Jordan Health Policy Scholars, a press release stated.

    The internship program for talented minorities takes place in Washington, D.C. and is directed by the Kaiser Family Foundation in partnership with Howard University, the release stated. [Read article]

    UA Webmail goes on stricter anti-spam diet

    With an influx of spam and spyware popping up on today's laptops and personal computers, many believe keeping up with the filtration of these infectious nuisances should not be a concern in the first place.

    The UA's Center for Computing and Information Technology does its best to help ensure unsolicited spam and bulk messages do not reach the more than 50,000 students, faculty and staff using UA's WebMail program, said Michael Torregrossa, co-director of CCIT. [Read article]

    Freshmen fill up dorms despite continued rise in price

    Imagine choosing a 180 square foot room without a kitchen and having to share a bathroom with 10 other people over choosing an 800 square foot space with a kitchen and your own bathroom when the 800 square foot apartment may cost as much as $150 less per month.     Important tips to help tame your toilet
