Two $1,200 framed pictures were stolen Sunday from the Delta Tau Delta Fraternity, 1050 N. Cherry Ave., reports stated.

When police arrived, a student told them he remembered seeing the pictures around 2 a.m. The pictures were of the 1999 and the 2000 fraternity members, reports stated.

The student said around 9 a.m. he heard a loud noise. He said he did not wake up until 11 a.m. The student said he then noticed that the pictures were gone. He said he also noticed the front and back doors were unlocked, reports stated.

Police looked in the alley and the dumpsters, but were unable to find any evidence.

The student said nothing else was missing or damaged at the fraternity, reports stated.


A man was cited for having an open Bud Light in his car early Saturday morning after police pulled him over at East Sixth Street and North Park Avenue for driving without his headlights on, reports stated.

The man said he was following a friend because his lights did not work. The man then said it was a friend’s car and said the registration was expired, reports stated.

The man admitted to drinking two beers earlier in the night. Police noticed the Bud Light and the man said he had opened it a few minutes earlier.

The beer was 3/4 full and still cold, reports stated.

The man said he knew you couldn’t have an open alcohol container in the car, but said he decided to take a chance.

Police conducted a DUI investigation.

The man was cited for the open beer can and for having an expired registration.

A friend picked up the man, reports stated.


A UA employee reported receiving suspicious emails Friday morning at her desk in the Parking and Transportation Services Office, 888 N. Euclid Ave., reports stated.

When police arrived the employee said she had been receiving emails from motor vehicle dealerships. She said someone had used her computer to request price quotes from the dealerships, reports stated.

The employee said she had called most of the dealerships, which said they only sent out the emails when there had been an inquiry.

The employee said she had put all of her personal information on fraud alert, reports stated.


A student’s $100 bike and $30 helmet were stolen Friday from the College of Nursing, 1305 N. Martin St., reports stated.

When police arrived the student said he had parked his bike around 8 a.m. The student said he came back around 12:30 p.m. to find his bike gone.

Police have no suspects or witnesses, reports stated.


A $2,995 golf cart and $375 battery charger were stolen sometime between the night of June 6 and Thursday afternoon from the McKale Center, 1721 E. Enke Dr., reports stated.

There were no signs of forced entry.

Red spray paint was found on the top level of Cherry Garage, 1641 E. Enke Dr., Thursday night, reports stated.

Someone first noticed the spray paint around 8 p.m. When police arrived they noticed that the spray paint appeared to say “MORG.”

Maintenance was called to remove the spray paint, reports stated.

Police have no suspects or witnesses.


A City of Tucson street sign was found the morning of June 8 in the Saferide office in the Student Union, 1209 E. University Blvd., reports stated.

When police arrived, a UA employee told them someone left the sign on his fiancée’s desk. The employee said neither he nor his fiancée knew who put the sign there or why.

The sign was for the intersection of North Greasewood Road and East Wagon Wheels Drive, reports stated.

The sign was placed into evidence and the City of Tucson was contacted.

Police have no suspects or witnesses, reports stated.


Someone stole a blue parking meter sometime between June 3 and June 6 from East First Street and North Vine Avenue, reports stated.

When police arrived they saw that someone had torn the parking meter from the cement sidewalk.

UA Parking and Transportation said it would cost about $550 to replace the parking meter.

Police have no suspects or witnesses, reports stated.
