A red fire extinguisher was found Sunday afternoon in a Zone 1 lot, 1455 E. Sixth St., reports stated.

The fire extinguisher had "Property of the University of Arizona," on the side of it and had been used up.

Police ran a records check on it, but it had not been reported stolen, reports stated.

The fire extinguisher was put into UAPD property. The UA electric shop said they would pick it up later.


A UA employee found that a gate at the Civil Engineering building, 1209 E. Second St., had been taken off its hinges Saturday night, reports stated.

When police arrived the employee told them he had first noticed the damaged gate around 11 p.m. Police noticed the gate was still locked in the middle.

The gate was hanging from the right hinges and was leaning against the wall, reports stated.

Police found no evidence of theft or tampering in the building. Photos were taken of the gate and placed into evidence. The gate was then put back on its hinges.

Police have no suspects or witnesses, reports stated.


A UA employee saw a man throw a rock through a second story window at McClelland Hall, 1130 E. Helen St., early Friday morning, reports stated.

When police arrived the employee said he had been walking at around 3 a.m. when he saw the man standing outside the building on the cement steps. The employee said there were a couple of rocks on the ground.

The man then threw the rock through the north-facing double-paned glass window leaving a hole that was eight inches in diameter. The employee said the man then walked away.

The employee said the man's pants kept falling and said it looked like he had something in his pockets.

Police found the rock inside the building. It was estimated the window would cost $500 to replace.

Cardboard was placed over the window and it was taped up. Police were unable to find any fingerprints, reports stated.


Five road signs hanging from the ceiling in the Tyndall Garage, 880 E. Fourth St., were damaged sometime between Thursday night and Friday morning, reports stated.

When police arrived they noticed the signs were all bent and it looked like someone had been swinging from them. A UA employee had already begun bending the signs back.

Police have no suspects or witnesses, reports stated.


Graffiti was found Friday morning on four walls at a construction site, 1675 E. Mabel Ave., reports stated.

When police arrived a construction worker told them the walls were last seen clean around 4:30 on Thursday night and the graffiti was found around 7 a.m. Friday.

Pictures were taken of the graffiti and placed into evidence.

Police have no suspects or witnesses, reports stated.


A $10 case of Gatorade was stolen Friday afternoon from a Pepsi truck outside of the Graham-Greenlee Residence Hall, 610 N. Highland Ave., reports stated.

When police arrived the Pepsi worker said he had gone inside for one minute and left the door open. When he came back the Gatorade was gone.

Police have no suspects or witnesses, reports stated.


An employee of Tucson Payphone Company called UAPD Thursday to complain about missing directory assistance decals from pay phones in the area of East University Boulevard and North Euclid Avenue, reports stated.

The employee said within the last four to six months someone has been removing the decals. He said he had no leads as to who it could be.

He said the missing decals result in lost revenues and said he would appreciate if UAPD could keep an eye out, reports stated.


A man was arrested for trespassing Thursday night after police warned him about sleeping at the Hillenbrand Softball Stadium, 1700 E. Second St., and found him 15 minutes later sleeping at the Poetry Center, 1600 E. First St., reports stated.

When police first approached the man at the softball stadium around 5 p.m., he gave them a fake name and birth date. The man's breath smelled like alcohol, reports stated.

Police warned the man about lying to police and told him to leave UA property.

When police saw the man sleeping again he was asked why he hadn't left. The man said he was tired and wanted to sleep, reports stated.

The man was booked into Pima County Jail for trespassing and for lying to police, reports stated.


A wheelchair with the word "Cedar" engraved on it was found the morning of June 22 at Tyndall garage, 880 E. Fourth St., reports stated.

A UA employee turned the wheelchair in to UAPD, who then placed it into property, reports stated.
