Every college student knows that giving your brain a rest is just as important as fueling it up. University Boulevard offers UA students plenty of eateries, clothing shops and other services, so put your minds at ease.
To help you get acquainted with the boulevard, here is a diverse list of some of the newest (and preferred) dining establishments.
Chicken Daddy's
940 E. University Blvd.
792-8227
A new addition to the boulevard, this place prepares marinated grilled chicken in practically any way you can imagine and offers a variety of side dishes.
Chipotle Mexican Grill
905 E. University Blvd., Suite 149
628-7967
It's not your traditional taco stand, but they've got great tacos and big 'n' tasty burritos practically the size of your head.
Espresso Art
942 E. University Blvd.
624-4126
Come for the espresso, lattes and baked goodies, and stay for the art frequently exhibited by UA art students and others from the community at this spacious yet cozy coffee shop.
Fat Greek
994 E. University Blvd.
206-0246
From falafel to dolmathes, this place offers a variety of Mediterranean dishes, which can now be enjoyed on their new patio, right off the southwest corner of University Boulevard and Park Avenue.
Frog & Firkin
847 E. University Blvd.
623-7507
This mock-English pub and restaurant has great burgers, sandwiches and booze that can be enjoyed on the front patio. (But be careful not to bring in any outside food or you'll be kicked out.)
Kababeque Indian Grill
845 E. University Blvd., Suite 185
388-4500
The only Indian restaurant on the boulevard, this is a great place to get lamb kabobs, veggie samosas, yummy mango or strawberry lassis, and other specialties.
Joel's Bistro
806 E. University Blvd.
529-7277
Short of getting a bagel at Dunkin' Donuts or a scone at Starbucks, this is the only spot on University Boulevard where you can get a really nice breakfast, from bacon and eggs to eggs benedict; from pancakes to crepes. The lunch and dinner menus are great too.
No Anchovies
870 E. University Blvd.
623-3333
This restaurant is arguably the greatest pizza joint in Tucson, with a full bar and every topping you can imagine... except anchovies, of course.
Pei Wei Asian Diner
845 E. University Blvd.
884-7413
Practically every dish at this Pan-Asian restaurant costs under $8, so going here is a no-brainer if you're in the mood for Chinese, Japanese or Thai food.
Penguin's Frozen Yogurt
825 E. University Blvd., Suite 161
903-2340
For ice cream and frozen yogurt delicacies, including a few low-fat options, this is the place.
If you need a haircut, a pedicure, a new pair of ass shorts or even a massage, you can find satisfaction at the numerous other shops on University Boulevard.
Cost Cutters
990 E. University Blvd.
792-3282
Whether you need a quick trim or a new look, it's best to make an appointment in order to avoid waiting. Plus, with discount cards, UA students can get 15 percent off any service or hair product.
The Joint
800 E. University Blvd., Suite 100
622-3886
This chiropractic place, which offers acupuncture and Chinese herbology, can help get your joints, spine and whatever else ails you back into shape.
Landmark Clothing & Shoes
867 E. University Blvd.
622-3706
With brands like Polo-Ralph Lauren, Cole-Haan and Birkenstock, this store houses unique fashions ranging from surfer wear to preppy casual.
Spring Nail Salon
845 E. University Blvd., Suite 155
791-7447
Manicures, pedicures, body waxing and more are available to UA girls and even guys at this salon. You can make an appointment or just walk in.
The Shredding Edge
747 N. Park Ave.
881-7433
Called TSE for short, this is more than just a skateboarding shop considering you can get longboards, snowboards, and all the proper boarding gear you need to cruise mountain peaks or around campus. (And though it's not technically on University Boulevard, it's directly around the corner.)
