Notes: Team hopes not to be own worst enemy again in home opener
On the heels of a "frustrating" 27-24 season-opening loss at Utah on Friday, the Arizona football team turns its attention to Saturday's home opener against NAU.
Arizona head coach Mike Stoops said in his press conference yesterday that the Wildcats (0-1) must cut down on self-imposed mistakes, a key factor in the Utah game.
"What was frustrating about the turnovers, (is) they're not forced turnovers," Stoops said. "It wasn't like someone hit our quarterback."

Volleyball gets brooms out early
The No. 17 Arizona women's volleyball team brought out the brooms this weekend, sweeping Winthrop, No. 20 Georgia Tech and Northwestern to capture the University Plaza Wildcat Classic championship.
Senior outside hitter Jennifer Abernathy was named tournament MVP, while fellow seniors Kim Glass and Bre Ladd also made the all-tournament team.
Abernathy averaged 4.67 kills on .400 hitting with 1.78 digs and .44 service aces.

Baseball notes: New-look Sancet on display
Not only will the Arizona baseball team look different on the field next year with the departure of seven drafted players, but their stadium has also been given a new look over the summer.
"We're going to get a brand-new scoreboard and playing surface and some type of shade roofing on the stadium," said head coach Andy Lopez. "Our immediate plans include a new playing surface and grass berms in the bleachers near the bullpens."
