Students demand return of Dec. graduation ceremony

More than 150 students, parents, faculty and alumni attended a commencement forum yesterday, demanding that administration bring back the university-wide commencement ceremony in December.

Organized by ASUA, the two-hour forum gave audience members a chance to ask questions, express frustrations, identify existing problems with graduation and suggest solutions.

Alistair Chapman, student body president, said the goal of the forum was to initiate communication between students and administration. [Read article]

An exhibit of lifetime blueprints and a multimedia show will highlight the reopening of Tucson's foremost modern art museum this weekend with shows by artists Tom Miller and Jason Manley.

After being closed for renovations this summer, the Tucson Museum of Contemporary Art reopens Saturday with the shows "Tropic of Memory" and "Corporate Greed."
