Football notes: Tuitama to start against Beavers
Punter Baugher out for season with ACL tear
Fresh off an impressive debut performance from quarterback Willie Tuitama, Arizona football head coach Mike Stoops announced at his weekly press conference yesterday that the freshman would make his first start Saturday at Oregon State.
"Willie has a tremendous future if he continues to progress," he said. "He has a competitive edge and tremendous confidence in himself, and that shows in the way he plays."

Full Monkey! is all business
Simian juggernaut captures second title in three years
The Full Monkey! Intramural flag football team mauled opponent after helpless opponent this semester en route to winning not only the men's and coed leagues, but also the all-campus tournament for the second time in three years.
Art graduate student Andrew Weidinger attributed the team's success to playing smart and not making many mistakes.

From the booth: Another Wildcat weekend
It was another eventful weekend for Wildcat sports, as more than a half-dozen teams took to their respective fields.
Seemingly each event had its own little nuances that made the game more enjoyable. Here are a few highlights (in no particular order of day or sport) from my point of view:
Reigning Pacific 10 Conference and national Player of the Week Kristina Baum and the Arizona volleyball team emerged from a weekend Los Angeles road trip at .500, beating the Bruins of UCLA and falling to Southern California. Let's hope the football team catches on: If you lose to (No. 1) USC, you must beat (No. 8) UCLA. That daunting task looms Nov. 5 - homecoming, no less - for the footballers.

Women's golf finishes strong in Palo Alto
Senior Kirkland shoots 68 as Cats tie for seventh
The Arizona women's golf team saved their best effort for last, shooting a season-best 5-over 289 yesterday to tie for seventh place at the Stanford-Pepsi Women's Intercollegiate in Palo Alto, Calif.
Senior Cassandra Kirkland led the Wildcats with a 3-under 68 in the final round to finish in a tie for 16th individually.
"It is really good to see Cass playing the way we all know she is capable of playing," said Arizona head coach Greg Allen in a press release.
