Students: Pack the house and bring the noise
For years, Arizona basketball fans have dreamed of a single student section with every seat full of jumping, shouting fans cheering so loudly that the opposing team can't get the noise out of their heads while on the bus riding home.
This year the establishment of the student section for men's basketball games has been an outstanding change that has created an opportunity for exactly this sort of scenario in McKale Center.

Less talk, more results for homeless
This weekend, Tucsonans flocked to the Tucson Convention Center to listen to the "musical" stylings of Ashlee Simpson. Although some people see Simpson as the embodiment of all that is wrong with the music industry, including nepotistic advancement, lip-syncing and selling out, she applied a modicum of good to balance the scale - her donation of the concert's proceeds to help the homeless problem in our city.

ASUA dismissals did more harm than good
The firing of Associated Students of the University of Arizona officials Jan. 10 demonstrated what many have feared since Mr. Bernsen took office last April: Mr. Bernsen lacks the ability to put the mission and goals of an organization (ASUA), above his own personal agenda. As a result, Mr. Bernsen has delivered a calamitous blow to Arizona Students' Association, one of the UA's strongest student-driven lobbying groups, leaving students severely underrepresented in a time of dire need.
