Big men not playing large
When current New York Knick and NBA Rookie-of-the-Year candidate Channing Frye graduated, he left big shoes to fill. Arizona had a number of big bodies and big feet to fill those shoes, however, and men's basketball Head Coach Lute Olson and his coaching staff were excited to use their frontcourt depth against opponents.
That depth has been dissipated - if not completely obliterated - since the season began. While getting swept on the road at the Oregon schools, Arizona's beef, aside from junior forward Ivan Radenovic, tallied zero points and two rebounds in just 20 minutes.

Injuries leave Wildcats' weekend lineup in the air
As if the Arizona men's basketball team wasn't already feeling the hangover from a two-loss road trip, the headaches will seemingly continue as the Wildcats will be without at least one guard for tomorrow's game against Stanford.
Arizona men's basketball head coach Lute Olson said yesterday that freshman guard J.P. Prince will be out against Stanford, while sophomore guard Jawann McClellan's status is questionable.

Don't give up yet
You might consider me positive. I'd say I'm positive in that Bruce Willis, "Die Hard With a Vengeance" way. Yeah, I'll never get down, but I will tell you that I have a bad f-ing headache the entire time I'm smiling.
That is why after the Wildcats sleepwalked through last weekend, appearing more vulnerable than a freshman consuming her fifth Jager-bomb, I walked away from the experience with my Shiner Bock half-full.

Kervin transfers to TCU
Former third baseman wants to be closer to home, no bitterness, he says
And one more for the road.
As if losing seven starting Arizona baseball players to last June's Major League Baseball draft wasn't enough, sophomore third baseman Bryan Kervin made it an even eight when he made the transfer to Texas Christian.
Kervin, slated to play shortstop for the Horned Frogs, finished fourth in batting on the Arizona baseball team with a .342 average last season. He trailed only three players - Pacific 10 Conference co-Player of the Year and first-round pick Trevor Crowe, catcher Nick Hundley, a second round selection, and two-time all-Pac-10 selection Jeff Van Houten - on the UA hitting charts.
